History

JPF Communications Inc. is a full service marketing communications, media relations and public relations firm. Founded in 1979 in Chicago, JPF Communications now has offices in Chicago and Orlando. JPF Communications specializes and publishes our clients in HVAC, refrigeration, engineering, plumbing, construction, electrical/lighting and construction trade magazines and websites. We are the only public relations agency in North American with 30+ years technical writing experience in HVAC/R + P.

JPF Communications also produces publicity materials to supplement social media such as Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and other outlets. We also work with bloggers. Our services also include advertising copywriting and consultation, video scripting, PR placement tracking, and trade show press assistance. With all our clients, we typically conceive write, edit and place dozens of editorial projects in the trade media that amount to hundreds of thousands of dollars annually in free space.

Principals

John Parris Frantz, president, is from Chicago and is the co-founder of JPF Communications Inc. John is responsible for interviewing news sources and writing a majority of the editorial content, especially those involving HVAC/R. John has a Bachelors and Masters degrees in journalism and visual communications from Eastern Illinois University, Charleston, Ill., and Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, Ill., respectively. After several years of freelance writing for consumer magazines, such as Home, Popular Mechanics, Rolling Stone, Chicago Tribune, Daily Herald and a host for more than 500 trade magazines in the 1980s, John co-founded JPF Communications as a full-service public relations and media relations firm. John has also written productions for PBS Television and authored the book, Video/Cinema: A Guide to Beginning Filmmaking, which is available at Amazon and Barnes Noble.. Today he works mainly out of the corporation’s Orlando, Fla. office, has a passion for golf and donates two musical performances every weekend at a large non-denominational Christian church.

Nate Frantz, vice president, is from Peoria, Ill., and graduated from Olivet Nazarene University, Bourbonnais, Ill., with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. Nate worked as a quality engineer at Morton Welding, before joining JPF Communications as an editorial content manager. Nate assures all technical writing and editorial content is accurate, factual and challenging for engineer and contractor readers. Nate is also pursuing an MA in Theological Studies and ministers college-age students with Bible studies.

Roxann Wylie, editorial content manager, is originally from Tyler, Texas and graduated from Texas Tech University, Lubbock, Texas, with a BA in Journalism. She worked formerly worked as copy writer and editor at Texas KTVB news station. Roxie also has an MA in Literature from Tennessee Tech University, Cookeville, Tenn., where she also taught English. Roxie is responsible for writing and editing at JPF Communications and oversees all story conception, writing, editing and placement in magazines, websites, newspapers and social media. Roxie is also a noted author having written the book, The Home Front in Faulkners War Fiction.

Kathy Cieslak is from West Chicago, Ill. and is the chief financial officer for JPF Communications. She has Bachelors degree from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, Ill., She has past experiences as a CFO for several HVAC related businesses in the Greater Chicago area. She also worked in the insurance industry, starting in claims and then as Team Leader over claims, loss prevention and underwriting.
